Princess Bride Returns... 202?
As you wish...
In 2024, The Parody Puppet Princess Bride became the biggest hit in All Puppet Players history. It sold out before opening, so we extended the run. Then you sold that out, too.
It was also our first original musical, with a book by Shaun Michael McNamara and music and lyrics by McNamara and Kurt Hunter. We took a movie people can practically recite from memory and gave the puppets their own songs. Somehow, you trusted us with this.
In 2026, we brought it back with a new opening number, a revamped torture scene, a brand-new Puppet Bride, and the same ol’ whimsy. The second run sold out, proving there was still plenty of appetite for true love with a filthy mouth.
Underneath the puppet idiocy, it was still the story we loved. Buttercup and Westley found each other. Inigo got his revenge on the Five-Fingered Man. Fezzik didn’t need a Brute Squad. He WAS the Brute Squad. And everyone got to yell “INCONCEIVABLE!”
Turns out, an edgier Princess Bride was exactly what you wanted.
The original songs are available on Spotify if you’d like to keep encouraging this behavior.
